I do a.

Once a year I clean everything:

Clean K&N air filter
Replace coolant
Flush engine
Replace brake fluid
Grease everything even the hub bearing / u-joints
Change diff oil
Dump tranmission fluid and put in new fluid
B-12 the trottle body.

Twice a year I replace mobile one oil filter and oil.

I did have one side effect taking care of a car this much.

I got 17 years and 350,000 miles out of a Ford F-150 and it still does not burn oil but my g*d it is ugly looking compare to my new 2000 - 3500.

So it is your call. I keep it clean because I can tell the difference between a clean air filter and a dirty one.
