Re: Haven't been on here for a long time...but i'm back...plus i got my vr-4 yesterday.

I found it on 3si.org. The guy lives in St. Louis.

I haven't been on here foreven since i got on to 3si.org.

Good luck on the sell and finding a vr-4.

BTW...my name on 3si is youngmanvr4 and having a vr-4 and a base and a name of dsm97gsx just doesn't fit. So my new name on here will be youngmanvr4 also. Just to let you all know. So if you see that its just me.

Awww you stopped posting here because of 3SI? I just started there a week ago and I don't like it as much, way too many people lol. I think you can ask a mod to change your name so that you can keep your post count, or I know they can give you your post count on a new account. Hope to see you around HERE more lol.

anyways, saw the AMSOIL sticker under your hood. do you run AMSOIL? did the previous owner?

i'm looking into switching over to AMSOIL...great stuff.

F*CK!!!!!! That's a hella good deal! And for a car with hella low mileage? I was thinking that you couldn't find a VR4 that low without paying $20K. Damn, why did the guy sell it to you for so cheap? Congrats buddy!

Yeah, I think I just wet my pants. LOL

Re: Haven't been on here for a long time...but i'm back...plus i got my vr-4 yesterday.

Yea the previous owner ran Amsoil series 2000 (i think) in it.

I knew i could find one with 58k on it for $15,000 but not $11,300. The guy started out at $13,000 (still pretty low). Then waited for a couple weeks then went down to $12,300. Then i saw the ad at 3si and called him a week ago saturday. When i was talking to him out of the blue (i didn't say anything about how much he was asking for it) he said i'll give it to you for $11,300. I was like...what the freak me. I told him i had to talk to my dad first then i would give him a call back. So i did just that. He lives in St. Loius and i live 10 miles south of Ne in a small small (150 people) town called Haddam, Ks. He had some bills to pay off and wanted to pay off the remaining loan from the bank he had on the car. Plus he was buying a 86 and a half Porsche 928 in Kansas City, MO for $5400. So he told me he that and at ths time i had $500 down on the car. So we meet at the dealership that he was buying the car from in KC. And since its a 3 hour drive from my house to KC...and a 4 hour drive from his house to KC it was just about half way. We got there...and driving up (with my 3000GT base) to it i looked at my dad and said...wow...i'm buying it. Took it for a test drive and i already knew that i was going to buy it fell in love with it. Got back and did the normal...talked for a couple minute. At the time he knew i was buying it. So thats how it happened. Handed over the money and keys and went home. Now for the best part. Its about a 3 hour drive home. So about 200 miles or so. As you know i have (but now selling to my sister) a 95 3000GT base red also. So it was me in the red vr-4 and my dad in my red base. FOR 200 MILES. It was the best time of my life. New car...vr-4...two red 3kgts on the road side by side. It was love. Anywho...i like to type lol. Hope you like my book lol jk.

Nate.

Alright, now I'm jealous...that is one hell of a good deal, I paid 2x that much for a 96 with 16k less...lucky bastard. Very nice pics, glad to see you're back. Did it get the 60k tuneup yet? Also what mods? I noticed the FIPK, and a boost gauge...

Re: Haven't been on here for a long time...but i'm back...plus i got my vr-4 yesterday.

I'm glad i didn't go for the 240sx also. The vr-4 is killer and just look at a 240...blah...vr-4...killer ride. I'm so glad i got the vr-4.

It has had the 60k done already so thats a plus. It has a K&N FIPK intake filter, HKS EVC IV boost controller, HKS boost gauge and i think thats all. Well...thats the go mods. It has...as you can see Profile Chrome and Gold amplifier (200W) and (2) 10" Red Cone Sony Xplod Subs.

Here is my mod list i plan on doing in the next year or so.

If i do anything with suspension this is what i'll do:
Tein FLEX coil-overs with EDFC.
3SX adjustable rear conrtol arms.

Exhaust:
JIC Twin 505 stainless steel cat-back (or Borla).
Stillen Downpipe (no cat, no front pre-cat, rear pre-cat needed)
DN rear pre-cat.

Intercooler/BOV:
Greddy type-s blow-off valve.
GT-Pro FMIC.

Electronics:
If i want to get a different boost controller.
Greddy PRofec B-Spec II boost controller.
Apex'i S-AFC II.
Datalogger from MCA.
(2) AEM gauge type UEGO w/ senser.

Intake/Fuel:
K&N FIPK (already on).
Denso 660cc or 720cc injectors.
Denso 310 lph fuel pump (hotwired)

Cooling:
3SX Duel-pass radiator with Flex-a-lite fans.

Drivetrain:
Pending on clutch.
PST CFDS 2 piece.

Gauges:
Defi control unit II.
Defi BF gauges (boost, EGT?, oil pressure, oil temp, water temp, fuel pressure).

Wheels/Tires:
Moda R6's 18x9.
Falken FK-451's.

Turbos:
DR-650's with all need oil lines.

Thats all i can think of off of my head. Turbos will be one of the last things i do.

I think to total of all this is about $19,000. So its going to take sometime to do all this. Plus i have gas to pay. If something breaks i have to pay to fixs. And if i dont get a ticket i dont have to worry about insurance since my dad is paying for that. But if i do i have to start paying. So its going to take sometime. But i'll do it part by part. I wont buy everything at one time.

Thourun: I see you saw the thread i found my car on.

Re: Haven't been on here for a long time...but i'm back...plus i got my vr-4 yesterday.

Big plans, but I can't blame ya, I got a similar wishlist that I'll still be working on in 5 years...
2 suggestions:
the comment about the Stillen downpipe, but keeping the one precat. If you eliminate one precat, you should at least gut the other, so that they flow relatively even. It isn't good if one is flowing substantially better than the other. If you need it for emissions, then get a highflow cat, or keep your stock downpipe, and do a switch before emissions or drive it really hard to get the temps out of the range of the precats.

2. Just a suggestion, but to each his own...look into getting a 1st gen DSM bov, rather than the Type-S. The type-s is nice, and if you want it...go for it, but I just got it, and in my experience, it is overpriced. Also, it has fitment issues with the 6spd trannies, and needs to be relocated...(I did this in 20 mins for $6, but still an annoyance). Just my .02
Congrats again.
