Short Shifter Quality?

I was browsing around autodynamic, and I was looking under shortshifters, and I noticed that the price ranges were odd. You could get a short shifter that costs $100 or one that costs $40, and it was the same pricing for strut bars. My question is, is there a big difference between the $40 one and the $100 one?

I don't know how much mine was (girlfriends are great) but I have the DC sports one on my 96 Accord 5spd and it's a lot better than stock. I can't really compare it to any others because it's the only one I've ever had. You can really notice the diff though from 1-2 and 3-4.

DO not go for them 40 dollar ones. They don't make them rite. If u gonna get it mind as well keep ur stock. Theres hardly any difference in those..TRUST ME! Get the dc sports, b&m and skunk 2's? Those three are really good. I got the dc sports for like 117 but i got ripped off. I know u can get them alot cheaper. Order from this guy...www.arloautoaccs.com He sells them for like 70-80 bucks i think?

there IS a difference.

how can you say he's completely wrong when you have no proof? This is generally the rule of thumb when buying aftermarket parts for your car: You get what you pay for. If you get a $20 strut bar, you might get like a plastic strut bar compared to a $100 strut bar which is of high quality made by a reputable brand name. You could take the chance and get the $20 one, but if it doesn't work out (and most of the time it doesn't), you end up wasting the $20 and go out and buy the $100 after that.

Well i did experianced actually. BOTH of my friends have the generic stuff..for there gsr and civic ex. BOTH of them complain sayin theres NO difference at all or HARDLY any difference. I've tried driving my friends car and i have to say they are rite. If you look...on the generic brand or whatever...if u compare to the stock..the ball is located at the same spot as the stock. NOW if u take dc sports or any other good brands and compare it to the stock ..the ball is lower. It doesn't really matter if the top part of the stick is shorter..it depends on where the ball is located. The lower the ball is the shorter the throw.

I have a Neuspeed that cost me a hundred, bushings and install included. No regrets.
I guess the thing with buying the branded and more expensive stuff is that you get some kind of assurance about the quality and construction, so you don't drive around wondering if today is the day the el cheapo rod you bought is gonna die on you. Just my opinion.
