Re: Egr Ports

# 1.....do not let stuff fall on down into the lower intake manifold.

What I did.....was remove the EGR valve and the spacer that is in between the valve and lower intake manifold......

I put a bunch of shop towells below the open EGR passage where the EGR valve would be......

Then I put little shop towels into the lower intake manifold to close off the passages below the EGR ports. Then.....I poked the crud.....and let it fall inside the main EGR flow passage in the center of the lower intake manifold.......I used LOTS of carb cleaner to flush the ports and passage out......I also used a aquarium tubing cleaning brush (a long bottle brush) and ran it in the EGR passage from the valve end....and scrubbed the inner passage....flushing with more cleaner.

I made sure that the other areas of the intake were as clean as I could get them....without getting crud down the lower intake passages.

Then I installed a new EGR valve......and put things back together.

My method was a bit of overkill......
