I recently purchased an '00 malibu which didn't have any remote fobs. Reading other postings, I found the programming instructions, and got a fob off ebay. so maybe they're not all compatible. I need to find one for an '00 malibu, but don't even have the numbers to look for. Does anyone have remotes compatible with the '00 malibu, or at least the numbers I'm looking for? The local dealer knows information is power, and is desperately hanging on to what little he has left. Thanks.

Re: need new fob for '00 malibu
was your car equipped with keyless entry when it was originally purchased? it may not have, explaining the reason why it has no fobs

I assume it had them originally, it responds to the programming setup sequence but didn't acknowledge the signal from the remote.

Re: need new fob for '00 malibu
My 99 remote is FCC# AB01502T, the "T" stands for transmitter. When I pulled the receiver out of the trunk it had the matching number on it FCC# AB01502R for receiver. If your FCC numbers match they should work. BTW mine is 3 buttons lock, unlock and trunk.
