87 Integra auto to manual conversion

I have an very nice stock '87 Integra with bad auto trans. Tranny shop says it's just about impossible (what's involved?) to change to manual trans. True? If so, I need a rebuild on my auto. trans. What's a good source near Portland, OR? Is $2,500 a crazy price to rebuild?

Man there are plenty of those automatic 86-89 integras out there look and youll find one very cheap and also the auto to manual swap is not hard at all, My hatch was an auto the guy did the b18 swap in it and changed it to 5 speed it less then half a days time..

Lol those trannies cost more than $150 used and they have high milage anyways. I dunno where you live Tech, but stuff seems to be really cheap there. $150 for used tranny, $100 for an engine swap... im comin to your town when i need something.
