Door panel noise

First off, I have been reading through the posts and replies and I am very impressed with the respect and willingness to help that you all show. It drove me to join up.
I have a 97 BlazerLT, 88,000 miles that I just purchased. It is in pretty decent shape short of a few minor irritations like door panels flapping from rough roads/minor bumps. Looks like the main problem is on the bottom of the panels where there is a bit of a gap, just enough to move and hit metal. I was wondering if there is an easy fix to this like putting a couple screws in to tighten the fit or maybe some kind of filler to cushion or pad the area making the noise. I also noticed a bit of inconsistency in motor performance so thought maybe bad gas was the problem (water). I ran a can of seafoam into a full tank of gas and it seemed to do the trick. Could this be symtomatic of another problem? Thanks guys.

About the door thing, I had that same problem on my 96 and with mine all it was were some clips broke at the bottom of the door. I went to a bodyshop to see if they had thre right clips and they just gave me them. Hope this helps

Ahh I know this all too well...after trying several things here is what I did to quiet my door panels.

1) Get all new fasteners from GM and use clear silicone adhesive to hold them in place (normally they are loose)

2) Put strips of double sided tape around the edges of the door panel where it sits on the door. Don't worry you will still be able to take it off if you need to but plastic door panels sitting against a metal door aren't going to be quiet.

Yeah, Those white christmas tree plugs basically get ruined when you pull the doorpanel off, even when pulled off carefully. I actually found them @ a hardware store for 25 cents a piece.

My passenger side door clunks really loudly when it is pushed shut. It sounds like a plastic hitting a hollow metal drum. It has had this problem since my dad spun out and hit a garbage can from the side. It definetely sounds like something is off. Anyone else ever had this? The door alignment looks right (the hinge bushings aren't sagging) but I plan on replacing these soon. Any insight?

I did this also but then just took some screws and screwed the panels in hard.

The new clips will just break after a while.
