windshield wiperarm paint

Most of the paint on my windshield wiperarms has come off. Has anyone else had this problem?

Re: windshield wiperarm paint

Yep, sure do. I am thinking about painting them with a black satin finish. Of course, I will remove them first.

How do you remove those bad boys? Is that round cap on the hinge end removable?

Re: windshield wiperarm paint

To remove the wiper arm, you will need a small screwdriver. Lift the wiper arem from the window, while it is in the air, "that round cap on the hinge end " has a little lever or arm that you pull out, it should lift straight up.

Re: windshield wiperarm paint

Yip, I suggest giving them a quick sanding and spraying them with black gloss tremclad rust paint.

Did that to mine two years ago and these babies still look brand new to the day.

Also, if you are kinky, you can color coordinate them to you truck's paintjob but in my case, my truck is black so it worked out cheaply for me.

Also, for added durability, maybe a quick squirt of clearcoat over the new dried paint will add some factory gloss. But if you use gloss paint initially for the repair, you really won't need to.
