Question auto door locks

I just got a 2003 jeep liberty and I am trying to figure out how to program it so those auto door locks dont work! In my owners manual it only shows how to do it if you have the computer thing up by the rear view mirror, which I dont have, but it doesnt show how to turn them off if you dont have this option? I called my dealer and they want $35 dollars to do it and wont tell me how to do it!! So can anybody help me with this??? These auto door locks are very annoying!!! Thanks!!!

i tried this on my dodge

I have a '04 liberty and a '03 dodge. Both have the auto door locks. My dodge's manuel gives directions to turn it on and off and to auto unlock the doors when the car is stopped and the driver opens his door. I set my dodge to auto unlock. It is so annying to get out of the car and try to get into the back seat to get a child and find the door locked. I love this feature. I tried it on my Jeep, but it didn't work. I only tried it once and was in a hurry. I am not giving up and will try it again. But reading your post i thought since my dodge and your jeep are '03s it might work.

To eliminate auto lock altogether:
With your doors shut and key in the ignition, turn the key from off to on and then back to off 4 times, ending in the off position. Press the power door lock position down as though you are locking your doors on your driver door. There will be a chime signifying it worked.

If you decide that you like auto door locks, but want to enable auto unlock do this:
With your doors shut and key in the ignition, turn the key from off to on and then back to off 4 times, ending in the off position. Press the power door lock position up as though you are unlocking your doors on your driver door. There will be a chime signifying it worked.

Good Luck!!!

I got help no problem...

When my Grand did that, and I had trouble with getting the auto lock to stop activating, I called the service department at Rockland Auto Plaza (here in Nanuet NY). They stepped me through it over the phone and didn't charge me. I forget how I did it, it's been like 8 months, but that is one idea.
