Mustang name on rear bumper

Question: The rear bumper has MUSTANG indented in the 2001.

Do all of the last generation (99-02) models have the same feature?

And do the GT's have MUSTANG GT indented also?

Thanks.

I believe they just say mustang on the bumpers. Other designations such as GT, Cobra, etc would have othe badging.

Actually, I want to correct myself from my earlier comment. I saw today after I left work, a Mustang GT convertible. It had the words Mustang GT engraved on the bumper, so yes, it does have it there. However, I think it only applies to lower models. The cobra and up would have the other badging to identify it.

I checked around and the latest generation Mustangs have MUSTANG written on the back (don't know about cobras though)

My neighbour(sp??) has a 94 GT and it has MUSTANG GT written on the back.

the new generation mustangs just have mustang on the bumper and cobra's have cabra on the ass, up until '99 the GT's had that indention but it was removed with the new body. i beleive Ford starting putting Mustang indented on the back with the first fox body.

I've broken 8 bones, so i know what you are going through. my neighbors son-in-law has a black convertible cobra and he is selling it, i think for around $17k. but i'm not really a ford or mustang guy.

ehm, clarification time
1994-1998 had "Mustang" "Mustang GT" or "Cobra" accordingly, with appropriate badging (running pony for v6, snake for cobra, GT emblem for GT, "Mustang" or "4.6L")
1999 had 35th anniversary badging and "GT" on the left rear of the decklid with an optional black honeycomb panel on the decklid.
1999-2001 Mustangs, including GT's, say "MUSTANG" on the rear bumper
1999 Cobras say "MUSTANG" on the rear bumper with a badge on the decklid that says "SVT Cobra"
2000 Cobras didnt exist.
2001 Cobras say "COBRA" on the bumper with a decklid badge that says "SVT"

correction, the 94-95 Cobra's had the base bumper, which just read "Mustang" and not cobra

Re: Mustang name on rear bumper

From 99-04 all stangs, V6 to Cobra, should have Mustang in the rear bumber. Cobras from 00-04 will have Cobra. I usually look for the extra badging on the trunk hatch or front fenders to see who ill be tailing... although i have been fooled before
