91 caprice - stalls and jumps at stop
I need some help. I have a 91 caprice police package, 5.7L. When I stop at a light the car stalls or sometimes jumps forward then stalls. It starts up afterwards with no problem but I have to ride the gas until I start driving again, then its fine??? It doesn't always do it either, it's like pot luck when it happens. Any ideas??? I thought it might be the fuel pump but I'm hooping for an easier solution.

One possibility would be ....
There is a switch in some auto transmissions. This switch forces the car into neutral when you come to a stop. If it fails, the car will act like a manual transmission car, if you don't push in on the clutch, and shudder and die when you stop.
