Anthracite (Monkey Shit Brown)

Is there a spray paint that resembles this color?

Re: Anthracite (Monkey Shit Brown)

I would do Tamiya Gun Metal not so much Light Gun Metal. The Gun Metal sprays a lot lighter than the can suggests.

MSB is a common name for this color, because to some people that's what it resembles. I've never seen it in person, so I can't tell for sure.

I've seen some nail polish that resembled the color, it was made by OPI, but that stuff's mucho $$$!! $7/bottle, .6 or so fl.oz. Breaks my heart, they make a *perfect* GM Sunset Orange Metallic.

The instructions for my Tamiya Supra kit say to use Tamiya TS40 for "dark brownish gray mica" (Anthracite)

(This is 99civichic)

Re: Anthracite (Monkey S*** Brown)

I'm really really sorry about the thread title I just got used to ppl calling it that =(

thanks a lot 99civicchic

btw this color has some brown tint to it, which keeps it away from being gunmetal.

Re: Anthracite (Monkey S*** Brown)

lol. we don't care if you swear otherwise, as long as it's not a personal attack. Just not in the thread titles, because it becomes the page titles and gets indexed by all the search engines.

Re: Anthracite (Monkey S*** Brown)

I used Testors Anthracite Grey for this car, but it's airbrushed. Don't know if they make it in a spray can.

Re: Anthracite (Monkey S*** Brown)

This is will69camaro,

Anthracite will be a hard color to come up with, i looked in the model box when 99civichic was posting and found that it just said to use the TS40 for the Dark brownish grey mica. I'm not sure what color TS40 is forsure but a gray metallic brown color shouldn't be too hard to replicate. Good luck you picked a very unique color for the supra. Not my fav color for them but it's different

Good luck, right now i'm building a replica of a friends car and it's being painted red (nail polish) and is coming out pretty well.
