Humming noise.

Has anyone else have this problems where your engine bay makes this weird humming noise when running? It just started recently for me and it sounds like the fan but I never heard the fan make a loud noticable humming noise like that. I don't think it's the motor, the noise does not increase or decrease in volume or pitch when I accelerate. Is my fan going out? I would understand if the fan made this noise when running hard or when I'm running the car hard but I'm not, just a nice cruise and it's annoying.

Have you're passenger turn her toy off.

Oh.

Um...check the bolts, might be loose.

Re: Humming noise.

Lol, I'd wouldn't mind watching that.... But yea, they're not bolts, I know that for sure. Good suggestion though.

As in you're sure its not the bolts because you've checked them? It might be a bad bearing or the fan blade has become damaged and is off balanced, causing a whirring noise as it moves through the air. An off balance fan can tear up bearings. Can you define the noise a little better? Any specific place it seems to be coming from?

Re: Humming noise.

I did have this noise once in a while on starts for a few seconds then it went away so I thought it was okay. Now it came back and stayed even longer, before it would just stop making the humming noise during my ride. I'll see what happens tomorrow when I start it up to take that damn ACT test.

As for your humming problem... Just wait for the batteries to run out, and eventually it will come out with a bowel movement... Umm... Shit... What were we talking about
