Anyone know how to fix the sunroof on 89 Camry?
The motor works, but the glass panel seems to have come adrift from the open/close mechanism (even though it's stil on the tracks) - so it slides back & forth on braking or acceleration. I have wedged it shut with a block of wood, but of course, it leaks in the rain. Is there a kit available? I looked at a repair job on a later model Maxima - does anyone know if the Camry has similar mechanism (I know it wouldn't fit, obviously). The idea of paying a grand or more to get this fixed is not too exciting. |

Re: 1989 camry sunroof
All cars are similar when it comes to the basics...the details of course are going to be different when it comes down to it, but if you have seen the job done on another car, you pretty much have a basic idea of what needs to be done. Your best bet would be to get a Hayne's manual and go with what it tells you, and your basic knowledge already will help you get the job done.
