i got a 90 dodge dakota i think i have trans problem

I have a 1990 dodge dakota v-6 3.9l. when i start my truck up it runs fine and then when i am about to put it in gear like drive it shuts off. it shakes when it is does this. when i put it in neutrel its fine as well. just wondering what the problem could be. if you have a ideal post back i would very much happy.

i am experiencing the same kind of problem. i have an a500 auto with overdrive behind the trans filter there are two round silynoids that control overdrive and torqconverter lock up if the tranny has some miles some times they will get cloged and not work properly. three screws hold the monting plate and the part is about 55 dollars from the dealer.worth a try if it stalls when u stop in gear and if it shifts 1,2,3 ok but make sure u use atf3 when u put fluid back in the trans.
