Re: 91 s10blazer brake problems

Are you talking about the insert in the lid of the master cylinder? OR, when you say "back of the master cylinder" do you mean where it bolts to the booster?

If it the rubber in the lid, unless you have the wrong one, it should snap on. You did push the two diaphragms back into place, didn't you?

Re: 91 s10blazer brake problems

Yip, push the rubber diaphrams sticking out up into the rubber part again.

They will push up until they are flush.

Re: 91 s10blazer brake problems

Is he talking about the master cylinder lid of the very back of the master where it bolts onto the booster.
The master lid leaking is a common problem on a few years . If its the lid it need a new rubber gasket.
And make sure all 4 corners snap down or it will leak.

Re: 91 s10blazer brake problems

but its not its actually only half filled cuz it keeps leakin out the back because the new and the old gasket under the cap kept getting pushed into the fluid which sent it out the back and im not leaking from the line which i said above i found its running down the frame rails and such onto the tranny

Re: 91 s10blazer brake problems

Listen carefully here, If the master cylinder is only half full and the rubber gasket is pushing the fluid out the top, what's wrong here?

Read the previous posts. Have you pushed the diaphragm's of the rubber back into place? Is the resevoir still seated into the master cylinder?

Just snapping the lid on will NOT push fluid out unless you are doing it with the diaphragms extended.

Hold on a minute, you said "old and new gasket", you do have only one gasket on the lid, don't you?

Re: 91 s10blazer brake problems

Push the diaphram back up into the lid.

Push the diaphram back up into the lid.

Push the diaphram back up into the lid.

Push the diaphram back up into the lid.

Underneath the lid it should be flat with nothing sticking down into the front and rear resovoirs.

Take a better picture of what you are talking about instead of that picture which shows us nothing.
