95 GC driver door wires?
First off, let me say this forum ROCKS!!! Ok...now my new problem...Yay! The driver door on my 95 GC is out of adjustment. It appears that before I bought it, someone REALLY messed up the entire latch system of the driver door (It LOOKS like someone tried to break in). The door is out of alignment , the hinge pins are really loose, the outside handle and latch do not work at all (I have to open it from the inside only), and the whole latch assembly inside the door is screwed up. Now, I am fairly mechanically inclined, but I need to get the door off the Jeep to replace the hinge pins, bushings, etc. I bought a Haynes manual, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to unplug the wiring harness that connects the door to the rest of the truck. Haynes book says to just unplug it and push it through...seems like an impossible task!! Ok..enough rambling...How and where does it unplug?
Thanks!!

There is 2 plugs if Iam right that have to unplug. I think they have a plastic lock keeping them from comming undone. It looks like a Zip Tie have to remove them to unplug.

Re: 95 GC driver door wires?
there ia a SCREW in the middle of the connector torx bit screw. all u have to do is loosen it and it will pull the harness out.

Re: 95 GC driver door wires?
ooo yea there is also a lil plastic retainer (4 clips on it) If I remember correctly I think u have to disconnect it first, then unscrew it. just pull the rubber boot up out of the way and u will c the clip (you may or may not have to remove it first, i don't remember) and there is a Torx Head Screw in the middle of the connector just loosen it, I think it's a T20 torx bit, not sure tho.
I have pics if u need them, email me [email protected] Joe |
