Brake Abs Noise?
We have a 1998 Blazer. The brakes seem to make a 'eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee' noise. It happens at any time, even when not moving. The ABS lite has been on a while, but they still anti-lock ok. It really does not sound like pad wear, although maybe this is a factor. It started on the drivers side, and now also does it on the passenger side (front).
Any clues ? |

Re: Brake Abs Noise?
Happens all the time, even when applying the brakes? Sounds like it is time for new pads - the wear indicators tend to squeal all the time when the truck is rolling. It may diminish or stop when the brakes are applied, but then the brakes tend to squeal on these things all the time. Anyone else out there with another opinion?

It gets noticably less when braking, but even does it when stationary ??
It's like a whireeeeeeeeeee noise... not really a mechanical noise. I am going to check them the weekend. Sounds like some kind of valve or line releasing pressure ? I mention about the ABS light in case it is related. I am not sure the components for ABS.... lol Thanks, anyone else ? |

Re: Brake Abs Noise?
I would take this to a mechanic rather than play around with it.
You brakes are very important and not something to "play" around with. I don't get why you are still driving around with the brake light on? Do you want your brakes to fail and kill you? |
