Question 69 TA speedometer and alternator probs

Hows it going? I need some help by anyone thats willing ... first off i'll explain that i got my bird from my uncle that past away and left the car to me last year its a 1969 TA with a 400 4 barrel n e ways when i got the car the battery kept dying and i'm guessing its the alternator so i went to check connections and its running off the belt but the wire isn't connected to it. and later when i finally found the wire it was hanging down just dangling and the end clip is broke so i was wondering where i could get another one of those. its the one that hooks into the alternator.

next

the speedometer dont work dont know why all i know is that it hasnt since i got the car ... help with those 2 things and i think thats all i need

Re: 69 TA speedometer and alternator probs

I would try to solder them back together if I where you because you might have to buy the complete cable to get that hook. Also is your odometer working?

Re: 69 TA speedometer and alternator probs

Every car has a odometer, Your thinking of a RPM gauge. A odometer is the gauge that tells you how many miles you have on the car and the reason I ask is because I want to know if the needle on the speedo is broken or you have a twisted or broken speedo cable or worn gear.

Re: 69 TA speedometer and alternator probs

I think its a broken speedo needle itself or the cable came out from the back of the speedo.

Its not that big of a deal that cable's runs from inside your engine compartment to back there
