Question Smokin Eclipse

OK...i drive the hell out of my car...when i get on the road and ive been driving for about 20 minutes or so....at high AND low speeds...whenever i park my car and turn it off smoke comes out from under the hood. i thought it was my belts, so i replaced them...obviously i was wrong...it is white smoke and very noticeable, but my car is not overheating. What could it be?

Re: Smokin Eclipse

Maybe you have a small hole in your radiator and when you turn you car the water burns off and the steam comes out of the hole. I dont know for sure but its a guess =D. Hope this helps

i had the same thing but mine was a small coolent return line driping on the downpipe, may not be your problem but it runs from the right side of the block over the turbo then down next to it buy the oil filter and then thats when it goes into anther pipe(cant see were it goes)

Re: Smokin Eclipse

it will probaly be a coolant leak dripping onto another hot element such as your exhaust manifold or exhaust pipe. coolant can leak from so many places its hard to pinpoint, but if you read 2 posts up, that person had a similar problem, so id check there first. then check all your coolant lines for leaks.

Re: Smokin Eclipse

Get a coolant pressure tester and see if you can find the leak.

Re: Smokin Eclipse

I would say that sounds like something dripping onto the mani for sure, as other have suggested. A single drop of oil or coolant being fried can smell and look like your engine just blew.

Re: Smokin Eclipse

well i will check the coolant and everything but when i usually check my coolant, it is kinda low.. and i i have oil leak...im thinking that it is my oil pan gasket, but im not sure..however had the car before my looks like they didnt know how to drive a low car. the oil pan has a big dent in it like someone bottomed out...do u think i should get a new one...if so, about how much do they run..and where could i get it from
