I need advice about a theft....

okay, i found a TA thats been stolen thats sitting in a rebuildable garage not to far from my house. i have checked it out its missing The back seats and belts and the ingition top peice is missing, radios gone, a speaker is missing, also a quarter panal is hit and the rear bumber is missing. Okay now that i have that said, my question is, on the ignition peice, the top black piece thats been popped off there is a while thats there can i just replace that peice or will the vats system be screwed? Also how much do you think its worth, its a 99 TA with 60000 miles missing two seats and rear seat peice, a seat is loose blah blah blah. They want 6 grand so....I know this isnt a camaro but I figure you guys would know most about this topic, thanks

It was Already turned in blah blah blah, it has two seats, the two front ones, and it was not through a theft strip, its just missing the radio and back seats everything else is there. the rear bumber is missing and it lookes like a sledge hammer hit the side next to the gas tank...Its not still hot, its been done and wrapped up and the owners gave it to a rebuild shop, the rebuild shop looked at it and specialze with cars that still run but are wreaked. I was just curious with the vats system and such..

It seems like a reallly good price, and yes everything does run, but it needs a charged battery, no big deal. and i took alook under the hood and everything appears to be there, today im gonna go try and get permission to turn it over..

Re: I need advice about a theft....

when it was stolen, the ppl who stole it must likey beat the balls off of it. the suspension i bet is shot. i dont think its worth that much. if you get it, you may have a hard time getting it on the road. i bet it dont have a reg. title. if you go and resell it, you may get screwed. as for the back seat, who likes to cart ppl around anyways. put a custom system in. have 2 12" subs pounding at the back of your head. thats my plan. if i was you, i would get them down to at least 4. when ppl see cash, they want it.

Re: I need advice about a theft....

If you haven't heard it run and it was stolen then it was most like as lcky said , Beaten the balls off it. The engine is probably shit now because thiefs just steal cars to rally them and ditch them. Occassionally steal anything worth value out of them. I wouldn't buy it.

If your not to sure about what things to look for take a buddie that knows something and check everything (frame, suspension, exhaust) and just making sure it runs decently. If the car looks mint other then the back seat then i would pay cash.
