Traction control light comes on after a short time after car start moving.
I can make it go out by stopping, pressing the traction switch, but soon after the car is moving again it comes back on. I am hoping it is a speed sensor, and not the transmission. Is there any way to: 1) bypass the speed sensors in am attempt to isolate a bad one; 2) can I test one of these w/o a code reader? mike scanlan |

Re: 95 PAU traction control light
Check for a tire low on air.
The traction control / abs system uses sensors on the back of each wheel hub to detect the rotational speed of each wheel. If a wheel is rotating at a diffent speed and the brake is applied, then the ABS transfers braking to the other wheels. If you are not braking, then a tire is slipping and power is transfered to the other drive wheel. A tire that is mismatched in size with the opposite side or a tire that is low on air while rotate at different speeds causing the light to come on. |
