Exclamation 10,000+rpm

This may sound kind of dumb but how to make to 10000RPM SAFELY on a sr20det, ka24de-t, I like revving the sh1t out of engines which is stupid but ohh well. . I also know that it is bad for the engine, i usually go to 8500-9000 on friends 200sx se-r so does he, FUN lol.
Anyways so far i know that for sr you need to have rocker arm stoppers including with all the head upgrades. Can somebody tell what those upgrades should be on ka24de-t and sr20det s13.

I'm pretty sure I've heard of a project drag skyline that has 13000 rpms. If that isn't street-bikish, I dunno what is.

Re: 10,000+rpm

Actually i prolly will stay with ka and invet all the money on greddy turbo (450hp capable gives 205rwh when installed). It is actually faster then sr20det, so it is more efficient to keep the ka and upgrade it. I ll just do A LOT of head work to make it be able to rev like crazy.

a 10,000 RPM Turbo KA. yeah you have fun with that.

assuming you build the bottom end... possibly 8,000? after that the Piston speed is gonna be high enough to rival an F1 car.

10k on an RB... possible

10K on a SR(T)... Iffy

10k on a KA(T)... Never. possibly if it was destroked. but who knows what would happen to the valvetrain above 9 (SRs have hoes above 9K too.)

Re: 10,000+rpm

If you want a rev monster, get a CA18. 8.5k redline stock

the reason why a GT-R can rev to 10 +K is becusae the dimensions of the bore and stroke. all RB's are seriously over squared. the KA is waaay under squared. WARIO's GT-R has a 15K redline potential putting down 1300 awhp. but hes only reving it to 13K for more reliabililty.

No offense but how long has it been since u watched F1? last time i checked idle was around 9,000rpm max was 17,500-19,000 depending on course and engine manfacture.

a longer stroke engine will have a higher piston speed then a shorter stroke engine at a higher rpm.

example: a KA at 6000 rpm will probrably have a higher piston speed then a SR at 7500 rpm. since the piston has more distance to travel per stroke to complete one rpm. it has to move faster in one minute compared to a engine w/ith a much shorter stroke distance.

Re: 10,000+rpm

You Can Make The Ka Rev Out Higher Maybe Not 10k But Alot Higher With Money.

Here Is A List Of Thing To Do:
Itb's Or Short Ram Intake Manifold (too Maintain Power)
Solid Lifter Cams And Nitrided Valves (for Strength And To Prevent Float)
Longer Rods For The Stock Stroke Or Destroke It
Overbore The Pistons As Big As It Can Go
Lighten All The Engine Internals And Rotating Mass.
Knife Edge The Crank To Reduce Oil Sump Drag
Raise Oil Pressure And Flow
Raise Water Pressure And Flow
Run High Octane Gas Or Alcohol
Build An Ignition System To Operate To Said Limit
Program A Standalone To Manage Engine Operations To Said Range
Dyno And Crossfingers!

10k Rpm Ka Is Possible But Would Be Very Expensive.

Ohh And Comparisons To A 2 Million Dollar F1 Engine Is Not Needed..... Any V8 With Only 3l And Half The Stroke Of Most Rbs, Twice The Size Of The Pistons, A 100 Times More Efficient Valvetrain, Head, Manifold, And Basically Everything Else Shouldn't Be Referenced Unless The Same Budget Is Applicable.

Get a Honda

If you want to rev to 10,000 then get a Honda. !0,000 is easy and reliable with any b series motor. The rdline on my ls/vtec will be around 10,000 - 10,300 with just pistons, cams, valve springs, port and polish. The stock valvetrain can handle 10,000 rpm, but I am building a track car and reliability is an issue.

Re: 10,000+rpm

Pavlo, unless you just like sitting at the light and revving the shit out of your engine, you need a good 8-9K RPM, that is very sufficient.
If you want ot be stubborn, musicsurf said it best. You could also change the internals and make it over square, not like the RB but somethin close, but remember, Higher Rpm usually requires smaller displacement, the dist the piston travels is reduced but the speed increases, and other stuff, the only problem, high RPM ends up giving you less Tq. You will have the ability to hit higher speeds, but the take off will not be the best. Go read revenge of the Nerds at "nissanperformancemag.com", the article is blue printing.

By the way, if you ever acquire a Ka to play with, I've got this friend who works at an engine rebuild shop, he is the one I am going to take my SHO engines too, they can give you pointers on what to do, it is a small shop, but it will be cheaper having them break it down, then if you need costly stuff done, you can send it off, they will not charge you out the ass.

Re: 10,000+rpm

Check at pull-a-part there at Buford hwy, last I was there they had like 8 S13, but 4 had the motors still inside, they are cheap, 70 bucks you can't beat that.
