extended warning beep

When I start up, I get the seat belt reminder for an extended period. No lights. Oil and coolant levels look good. I still don't have an operational voltage or coolant temp guage on the left side of the cluster. The beep will also return after I turn the ignition off, until I remove they key. Any similar experiences?

I haven't seen anything like that on my Rodeo.

I do know if I leave the key in the ignition and open the door, I get the warning beep. Maybe you have a bad driver's door switch. Does your dome lamp work properly when you open or shut the door?

It could be the seat belt switch.

Also, my Rodeo gives me the warning beep if I turn off the ignition with the marker or headlights on.

I'm just throwing out ideas here...

Good Luck,
Dale

Re: extended warning beep

Thanks Dale! Appreciate any ideas. Right now I'm going to call it paranoia, because after I posted, it hasn't happened. It may just have been that I had the key in the ignition with the door open. I've been driving my Jetta for work, and I think I'm just not used to the Rodeo's quirks. Now that the Jetta needs a clutch, we'll be getting acquainted again.
