fuel smell out of exhaust

I have a 2000 Dakota (2wd) with 83,000 miles and lately the check engine light has come on and I've notice a fuel smell out of the exhaust when first starting up in the morning. It runs well with no hesitation. Except when it has rained over night,but that goes away.

what code is it throwing? Turn it from off to run 3 times, ending on run and watch the odometer. Should give you a PXXXX code. post it and i can look it up
