Unhappy help!

I got a 93 mazda Mx-6 V-6 automatic, and i was washing the engine down while the car was off (cold), cuz i just put in a transmission and i was washing down all the grease and now it wont start, it been 2 days now and all i get is a few back fires and it will try to turn over once and then nothing, the engine stumbles , kinda like mis gaped spark plugs. could it be the coil? , I have no idea whats wrong!

Help

These cars have a problem with the ignitors in the distributors and a sensor located on the passenger side fron bottom of engine cant remeber the exact name of the sensor .
Check out MX6 .com and do a search on Distributors .
By the way there is a quick inexpensive fix for the Ignitor if thats whats wrong it involves repalcing the internal ignitor with an extenal Ignitor (HEI) and ther is also a Sticky post on that csots about $20 to $40 as opposed to a $300+ distributor
Good luck
