Re: Si really worth it?

si has more interior options, 90-91 si crx has rear disc brakes, Si has an indash tach. Overall not much differnce. If your going for performance the HF is the lightest, followed by the DX and then the Si is the heavyest. Same goes for years 88 was the lightest and 91 was the heavyest, but its a margin of less than a couple hundred pounds.

Re: Si really worth it?

Si was worth it to me. I love my sunroof. And its nice to have MPFI from factory. I bought it because I knew I was going to do a swap into it. And nothing beats si seats.

What? No "Hi Noob, welcome to the forum!"? What's become of us?

Anyway...

Hi Noob, welcome to the forum!!

BTW, the Si is a nice place to start, especially if you can get one with the rear disk brakes. GL

Re: Si really worth it?

Hi Noob... I like my Si. The only way I'd get a DX or HF is if I had an Si parts car and a lot of time on my hands... GL

Re: Si really worth it?

No sense in getting an Si, get a 4dr EX, i believe they are lighter than all but the HF, PLUS power windows, seatbelts, and locks, and big brakes up front... plus great sleeper

Re: Si really worth it?

I started off with a CRX DX because it was alot cheaper than an Si. I did the motor swap and pretty much evrything in the engine bay went out the door anyway. A moonroof would be nice and the rer disc brakes would be good too but, I'm planning to upgrade the brakes and suspension anyways.

Really? The EX weighs 2368lbs, how much does the CRX Si weigh?

about 2200 I believe. Well, I figured mine weighed less cuz I have 9Lb 14x5" rims, A/C delete, lightweight pulleys and flywheel, a custom plexiglass moonroof and burnt off undercoat but I have 2 10" subs in a small, lightweight bandpass box so that adds some weight back on to it. So you gotta remember if you're going to get big rims, most will add some weight unless they're spoon, rotas, racinghart or some other expensive brand. Plus a system adds weight. It all depends on what you want it for...

Re: Si really worth it?

I'd look at it like this....

If you're goin to do motor swap, then get the HF model since its lighter and most likely cheaper. Later on you can get rear disc conversion. Thats IF you dont care about options. If you care about the options then get an SI.

thanks guys

well, to me its just a matter of not being able to find an si right away, and i need a car and there are more non-si crx's that i am able to find, i kind of want to stay away from 88 cuz i found that they have some strange rear wheel steering. so i am looking into getting a 89-91. alo how much would it cost to do a rear brake disc conversion?? thanks!!
