How many times can you bench your body weight?

Im 17, 5' 7 1/2'' tall and weigh 140lbs. been tryin to get up to 145 but i am really hesitant about putting on extra fat, so its taking me a while to just gain it in muscle, anyway i can bench press my body wieght 10-11 times on a good day, how about everyone else?

Re: How many times can you bench your body weight?

cool topic. i dont work out with weights that low in weight. (5'7" 155lbs 21 years) in a WILD guess i would say 10-15 times, but i may try it out once i change my routine again.

I weigh 240 and have never tried to do as many as I could at that weight. I warm up with 18 reps of 225 and then do 8 at 275, 4-6 at 315 (twice). I'll give it a try next week to see but I'll guess 15 or so....

Re: How many times can you bench your body weight?

I'm 5'11" and the last time I benched I was around 150. I weigh 200 so I'm in pretty good standing.

Re: How many times can you bench your body weight?

I'm 205 currently, I can do 205 for 6 on my third working set, but I've been on a strength plan right now, so I don't have the stamina built up yet.
