i have an 88 accord lxi with 298k miles. it runs great, but the tach won't budge. also: the cruise doesn't work (light on cluster won't come on) the button & its light come on though.
anyone who knows tachs feel free to bestow me w/ your knowledge thanks, dyer |

Don't know about the tach, but I have a suggestion for the cruise.
The combo switch that operates the brake lights and disengages the cruise is operated by the brake pedal itself. Up under that dash you'll see/feel the switch. There is a small plastic "button" pressed into the brake pedal lever, that bears on the switch. If that is worn or missing, it will cause the symptom you describe. Given the age of your car, I'd think it very likely. Costs about a buck or less to fix (yourself!) |
