95 cavalier question?

ok my buddy has a 95 cavalier with a 2.2l engine on it. now he wants to a full performance motor (money not an issue). now he was wondering if he should stick with a 2.2l or a 2.4l motor. he wants to add a turbo to either motors and i understand that means a turbo manifold and low compression pistons and so forth being a dsm owner. what is the best route for him as far as motors go. stick with 2.2? go 2.4? and another question. i have a mitsubishi eclipse turbo motor that is stored and was wondering if there is any way it will fit into a cavy. yeah i know tranny would have to be changed, and being an import motor will there be major issues or no?

Re: 95 cavalier question?

If money is no object, get a LS1, and put a twin turbo setup on it.

2.4 would be the way to go, in my opinion. You can do a 2.2 if you want to be different, nothing wrong with that either. Realistically, stay away from dropping engines in from other cars unless you are very, very talented mechanically (rich helps too). It could possibly be done, but usually if people have to ask about it, they won't be able to do it. Good luck whatever your choice.

^^^ Right on the button... or if were talkin big bucks....3800 and turbo charge it...if you have ever heard of a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP...thats a supercharged version of the 3800...If i had a few thousands chillen out.. thats what i would do, most say 2.4, but if you got the money do the 3800... you would literly be "Almost" untouchable against other cavs..
