Anyone else have problems with radio?

well heres my moms problem with her car. she has a 03 jaguar xtype 3.0 and i must say that her radio is really shitty. she cant pick up to many radio stations and its static all the way. i own a mitsubishi and i have a great stock radio. we took it in and the replaced the antenna and everything and its still the same. i just want to know if this is a problem on all x types or if we just have a messed up car?

I have a Blaupunkt Indianaplois CD34 radio in mine and it picks up the local stations (within 50 miles just fine) but the further out stations that my Jeeps stock radio picks up (about 80 miles or so) pretty good the Jag just wont pick up. I figure it has to be the fact that the antenna is not exposed like the rod on the front pass side of me Heep is.
