A Few Quick Questions

Two quick questions:

1) How do I know if I have a the factory Bose system? There isn't any Bose logo's on the head unit or the speaker grills, but I do have 6-speakers (I believe that 4 were standard).

2) Does anybody know if I can install OEM fog lamps on my '99 Intrigue GX that doesn't have fog lamps. If so, how much would the parts cost, granted if they're still available?

3) Does anybody know a good website that I can buy a painted OEM-style spoiler for my car? I've done a quick search and none of the sites have the correct paint code for an Intrigue. I don't quite want to spend the $340+painting+labor that the dealer wants.

4) Is there any way to disable the automatic headlamps (not the DRL) without removing the fuse. I mean, it'll be a sunny day and lights automatically turn on. Also when I back into my briveway at night, I don't want to wake up the neighbors b/c my lights are shining into their house.

Thanks for any help!

The Bose system surely would have the Bose name on the radio. I have six speakers (front door - kick panels and by the rear view mirrors, and two in the rear filler panel) and I don't have the Bose. I have never seen an Intrigue with the Bose, so I can't tell you what it looks like.

If you reallly want those fog lights, check with the dealer (or gmpartsdirect.com - if you want to save a bundle of $$).

If you don't want to shine your neighbors, turning the light control switch to parking light position will turn the headlamps off when they are on automatically.

If you really want a spoiler, I'll give you an OEM, silver - if you can figure out a good way for me to fill the holes - and if I can remove it without breaking it!!

Re: Quick Questions (re: lights and sound system)

OK, mine doesn't have the Bose system, gmpartsdirect.com doesn't have fog lamps and I read on modernolds.com that it's costly and difficult to install.

For some reason, my lights don't turn off when I turn the switch to parking lamps.

Lastly, thanks for offering your spoiler, but my car is red (I guess I could always get it painted) but the only way I know how to fill holes in a car are using using plugs (like when old police cars are sold without the antennaes).

Thanks for the help!

Oh, also:

Do all Intrigues have Passlock? I know in other GM cars with the passive security, the chip is imbedded in the key itself, rather than in the black plastic part. Does that go for the Olds too?

Burnout - I would probably take you up on the spoiler transfer but now I am trying to sell my junkster - I'm sure buyers won't want to see holes/plugs.....not that they really want to see this car anyway....
