snapped cam cover bolt

well i was fitting my mugen rocker when , i dropped 2 of the 8 rubber gromets for the bolts in behind the washer bottle, so off came the front bumper and the washer bottle (braking a washer bottle bolt in the process) and walah! we have them back, i fit the new gaskets onto the mugen one, and fit it, start to tighten up the bolts when i notice that the inside right bolt at the front isnt doing up properly, i then loosened them all off to try and line the whole cover up again but it was having none of it

so i then lined it up as best i could and started to do them all up.....then SNAP!!! the fucking bolt sheared off , so i now have one of the inside bolts snapped, i started the car and let it run for 10 mins and no oil has leaked but i think i will have to get it sorted, is it a hard job???

as your looking from the front of your car its the bolt for the plug cover on the right

just kidding man, if its anything at all like the ZC valve cover bolts it should have a nut at the bottom of it that you can get a wrench or socket onto and take it out

its not leaking at the moment but i will have to book it in the garage when it starts to leak, im broke at the mo, i topped it up with oil just incase lmao

Easy Outs, should be the one thing found in everyone's tool box. They are a tapered like bolt, that have reverse "threads" on them...looks like an impeller kind of. Anyway, all you do is drill into the center of the bolt and put the easyout in the hole that you just drilled, put wrench to it, and wala! the rest of the bolt comes out.

its a type of counter-clockwise (spins to the left) drill bit that digs into the top of the broken bolt and spins it out of the head. Costs about $3 at parts stores or hardware stores in the US, dont know about the UK though.
