98 caravan oil pressure light, please help

My 98 dodge grand caravan w/ 130,000+ miles, has a low oil pressure light come on only after driving for about 10 min. When the light comes on, the engine starts to get noisier. The next day I start the car, things are fine until about 10 min of driving, then the same problem again.

I changed the oil and filter (not Fram)
Oil level is fine (10w30)

I had a mechanic say it might be a little overflow valve or gate in the oil pump that might be stuck open or closed.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
