HP guestion

How much horse power does the 3.8 V6 make at the wheels in a 00 Mustang?

what yr? i have seen 193 hp for a 2003 but thats engine . i think you subtract 12% .

stck V6's are 190 horsepower at 5250 rpm, with 225 foot-pounds of torque at 3000 rpm. Not sure how much to the wheels, an important part is the 0- 60 and 1/4 mile time. 0 - 60 = 7.0 secs, 1/4 mile = 15.5 sec @ 84 mph.

Thinks for the info. Are you sure its 12% I always heard 20% but I could be wrong.

depends on the transmisison, with a stick it's about 8-10% where an auto is typically 12-15%

yeah from what i hav herd 13-15% manual and 17-20% auto is the useual stock RWD drivetrain loss

Its the same engine, but an automatic has preset shift points which take away from the cars max hp. With the 5spd you can push the gears more, therefore you can get the most out of your engine.
