89 wont start and its getting spark and fuel

I have had my 89 civic 1.5L for about 6 months I havent had a bit of trouble except for a blown head gasket.Any way the other night it started to stall out and not run worth a shit.I turned it off and restarted it and it ran fine.It set over night and the next morning it ran fine.I drove it around my work.Which is only about 2 miles.I shut it off and it wouldnt restart. It would try to start but it wouldnt. So I read the ecm codes .Which led me to a bad fuel injector. And It still woundnt start after I replaced it.It is getting fuel. You can smell it when you try to start it.I thought maybe the timing belt slipped. But It is in time. And it has a bright blue spark at the plugs.I don't know what to do. I am a chevy man and I know nothing about hondas.Im getting tired off screwing with it.I would just sell it and end it,but I dont have the money for something else.Any help would great.
Thanks,Tim

Re: 89 wont start and its getting spark and fuel

could be timing if your belt jumped you can get fuel and spark but no firing. Also have you taken off the dist cap? if so maybe you put on the rotor 180 off (its happened to somebody I know crappy autozone rotors) or it could be your rotor screw has backed out cause it to move also. Ok one more thing the dist cap could be full of carbon like spider webs inside the dist call carbon traces. If any of these are true repace the parts.

If its your timing check the belt to see if any teeth are missing, If you know where your timing mark is on the lower belt pulley ok ex. looking down [ l l l l ] the one on the right is your static the 3 on the left are you running timing. Line up the one on the right to the arrow off the block. Then look up at your cam gear there are two marks that oppose each other and the word "UP" Up should be up if it is not crank the motor over till the UP is UP the two marks have to be straight accross lined up with the head. If they are then your in time on the timing belt. If its not in time do a search on timing thru the forums. HMMMM if this is confussing hehe sorry.

the one on the right is 0 BTDC and the other three are marks for 14, 16, and 18 BTDC. the ECU uses 16 BTDC as its base timing so 16 degrees or the middle mark is your "running timing"

I have checked the dist cap and rotor and they look good. And I made sure it is in time. When you have the #1 plug out and crank it over it sparks when the cam gear UP mark is in the up position. That means its in time doesnt it? thanks for your help.keep it comming I need a car so I have to get it fixed soon.thanks,Tim
