after market clutch and fly wheel.......

ok, clutch is starting to slip so im gonna replace it with all aftermarket stuff. Im looking at a centerforce dual friction with an aluminum flywheel. Its not a daily driver, but i do take it out fairly often in season. I do plan on doing some extensive horse power add ons. So, i need a flywheel/clutch combo that is streetable but can hold onto some serious power. Also, do i need to get anything else when i have this job done? I heard a aluminum flywheel can cause some adverse effects. Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks
Dante

I think your making a good drivetrain start and the Aluminum flywheel with have more benfits than disadvantages but also what year car do you drive?

Re: after market clutch and fly wheel.......

Anyway getting back to the subject of your car also 94 is a very good year. OBD 1 perfect for tuning. I would finish up with aluminum Driveshaft and do you have the cags removed?

Re: after market clutch and fly wheel.......

I would have it removed if I wher you but I don't see it causing a major issue because it moderate to high throttle conditions it unlocks 2nd anyway but for MPG and to stay within the powerband I would want it removed even though they say it helps MPG I doubt it because its bogging the engine down and requiring more gas to accelerate. ..

Re: after market clutch and fly wheel.......

i have never heard anything good about centerforce for our cars
check out mcleod and spec those get rave reviews form all our friends at cz28.com

i am personally getting the spec as soon as i get the money

how much hp is serious? if you are launching the car at 4-5k and getting traction then dont bother with the lightweigh flywheel. its better to have more weight on thier when you launch hard.

im like a little kid on christmas i wanna know what your gonna do to your car..... ha ha ha

Re: after market clutch and fly wheel.......

I've heard good about both but then again I have a Auto and haven't had a Clutch in a Car in a couple of years and then it was a Vette and I used a Ram clutch.

Re: after market clutch and fly wheel.......

I'll check out spec clutchs. I was aiming for about 600-700 hp when all is said and done.

Re: after market clutch and fly wheel.......

ok, spec has a stage 3r, which looks alike the way to go, it has the holding power of thier stage 5 but the streetability of a regular stage 3. BUT this Mcleod street twin with an aluminum fly wheel looks dope. It holds up to 1200 hp--holly smokes. Question is, is it still streetable? If i add an aluminum flywheel to the spec stage 3r the price is about the same as the twin mcleod. So, what should i do. At this point it looks like centerforce is out of the running, people don't seem to confident with them.
