I'm trying to find out how to hard wire a dvd to the stereo without buying an adaptor. This is so I can hear it on the original speakers. I know there is an aux botton on the stereo, but I don't know how to get it to work.

Re: 2004 silverado stereo aux input
unless you can get a copy of the wireing digram, its faster and cheeper to get the adaptor. with the adaptor you can also just unplug it and plug the oem radio back in when you sell it.

Re: 2004 silverado stereo aux input
I spent less than $20 buying a transmitter at Radio Shack that plugs into the DVD's headphone jack and broadcasts at a frequency that your radio can be tuned to. Not the greatest hi-fi sound, but good enough for everyone to clearly hear. It just needs a 12v plug for power.

Re: 2004 silverado stereo aux input
I just tried wiring a mini plug to the accessory port on my stereo, the spare adaptor plug on the back of the stereo. Unfortunately it didn't work. So, I guess I'll try Brumleve's idea.
