is there a diff between the 89 pm6 and 91 pm6 ecu.both 5spd?

the 90-91 PM6 has an external EEPROM inside of it that can be desoldered and replaced with a flashable ROM. Basically, 90-91 PM6 can be chipped while the 88-89 cannot without excessive modification
