Stock amp placement?

Ok, when i bought my car it had no streo so bear with the stupid questions lol. is the stock amp that box that is mounted driectly under my ECU? i noticed it while wiring my turbo timer, the only reason why i think its the amp is becuse it has a weird wire connected to it with "MITSUBISHI CAR AUDIO" Stamped on it. none of the wires were connected so i pulled it out....just double checkin it was the amp lol. btw i have a 91 if that makes a diffrence

Re: Stock amp placement?

Nope, stock amp is under the passenger seat, easy to see from the back seats. At least thats where it is on mine.

Re: Stock amp placement?

Well I'm no expert, but a pic would be cool and may help if its not a problem. One thing is the amp is kinda big and I don't think it would fit in there lol.

Re: Stock amp placement?

I think that may be your black box , I guess it's the amp, why else would it say mitsu audio? Did you check under your passenger seat too?

Re: Stock amp placement?

yea, nothin's under my seat...except a non conncected wiring harness clip where an amp could have possibly been...oh well, my car works fine and so does my aftermarket stereo so i'll just throw this "box thing" in my spare parts cabinet and leave it lol.
