Tranny Problem

I have a 01 1500 4X4 that under hard aceleration will miss third gear. It shifts from first to second fine and than at about 50 mph will come out of gear and redline. If I let off for a second it will go into gear and be just fine. It shifts fine if you dont hold it to the floor.

Thanks

Is this happening all the time or not to long after start up? Dodge trannys dont circulate fluid in park or neutral. Once in gear it will take a few minutes to circulate. After start up, put truck in drive or reverse and apply parking brake. Let the fluid circulate for a minute or two and then drive. This should solve your problem.

Re: Tranny Problem

I dont get on it until it has warmed up so it shifts fine cold. The dealer put in a new converter and shift selnoids about a year ago. The fluik is where it needs to be and was flushed about 7000 miles ago. The truck has 67000 miles on it.

Re: Tranny Problem

Its pretty much either an improperly adjusted kickdown cable or your front clutch is leaking. Do you have a delayed reverse, cold?
