CamCorder?
For a long time I have been wanting to get a Camcorder that I can use to post races/videos on the internet. But I have no idea what im looking for. I wouldn't need a super expensive "night vision" one or anything. Just something that I can hook into my computer and get the videos on there. If anyone has any recommendations on what to buy and what to look for, any help would be appreciated.
Rob

Re: CamCorder?
I've got a JVC GR-D33. It's a great little digital camcorder with good zooming and still picture photo. It has DV output as well as S-vid and standard A/V hookups. It has survived hundreds of drops without incident. I've accidentally left it out in the rain twice, each time just powering it up so it could release the condensation. All in all a very well designed, durable camera.
Low light situations are another story, the LED bulbs in the front are for show. They do a poor job of lighting any dark room up. The DV hookup required me to get a firewire card and cable for my computer. The software that comes with the camcorder is pretty easy once you learn what all those buttons do. my .045AUS

I just got a Canon Optura 30 about a month ago... thing is sooo nice I love it. was a little pricey (799) but I htink it was well worth it. The image stabilization is great and the picture quality is top notch.

Re: CamCorder?
Hitachi is nice too. Go for the digital DVD. Film is obsolete.
