In progress: twin turbo pro touring 67 chevelle ss 396

well here is my latest project, i am awaiting photos to continue on with teh 88 gt. its a revell 67 chevelle ss 396 california wheels kit. the body is going to be two tone. millenium silver on the top, and boyds grape pearl on the bottom, i've sprayed it once, and tried to put a royal blue stripe to separate the purple and silver. but it didn't work, so its soaking in DOT 3 now. gonna try a new approach next time. i was working on the motor. i deceded to scratch build a tbi system. Before that was done the idea spread to twin turbo. the system will be set up much like 008's road runner. here are some pics of what i have so far. do you think that turbo is too big?

the turbo still needs work. and im still lookin for somethin to build the headers out of. probably have to wait till pay day (thursday) to pick up some more materials

Re: In progress: twin turbo pro touring 67 chevelle ss 396

i havn't made it very far through it yet. lol. the parts seem to fit good thus far. body needed minimal work as far as clean up. the turbo that is plumbing solder wrapped around roughly 4 cm styrene rod. im gonna go in hunt of different size solder on wed. and pick it up on thurs. that plumbing solder is too stiff..and i think too big for my application. if i was going single it might be ok...but the overall size for a twin turbo set up i think is too big.

a few details. i will be using the kit supplied custom wheels. i'll get a pic tomorrow some time. Im going to modify a radiator from a nascar kit there is no way the stock unit will suffice, once the body and interior is painted i am going to see how the racing seats from the fast and furious supra look in this thing. i might throw in a speaker box. not sure...if i use different seats then the back seats will not match. i'll tackle that later on.

Sounds sweet man, yet to see a cali wheels Velle in Australia. That would be far too big for twins if they are the size of your fingertip, well it'd be too big for a factory chassis I think.

I am loving that idea for the paint scheme, but I am hating the idea of taking a classic piece of american muscle, and making it into a rice rocket tuner type car. ditch the turbos and make it all muscle.

Put only one turbo. With that size turbo, it will have some serious horsepower. Cool project.

Re: In progress: twin turbo pro touring 67 chevelle ss 396

since when were twin turbo's rice? Ever heard of Mike Moran? he built a QUAD turbo v-8. he is tryiing to get it legalized for drag racing. its all about power. now if i were to throw a hideous body kit and a HUGE GT wing on the back of it, then i'd let you scream rice. lol. as far as the plumbing. i hope it fits. lol. out with the wheel wells. the color scheme has changed. we are going royal blue on top, silver on bottom, with the purple stripe. the purple just wouldn't take to the masking for the stripe.
