Transmission help!!
I have a 94 civic hb with a jdm b16a swap. I have had the swap for about 8 months, when on the way to the nopi nationals in atlanta, sitting in a ton of traffic my car refuses to move. When i put it in first gear it moved up like it was engaging but when i let out on the clutch the car wouldn't move. Well, after paying a hefty towing bill to get it back home, I found that the shift linkage holder assembly. I believe its called, anyways its inside the tranny and translates the shifter rod movement into three forks that select the gears. I replaced the part, also added a ACT stage1 clutch kit. After placing the engine back in the car it still wont move although you can hear the transmission taking gear. when you let out on the clutch and rev the motor a slightly it makes a whining sound, you can kind of hear something spool up. I would really appreciate any help or suggestions. Ive already spent 700 dollars to get the car back home and order the parts for the tranny, i really don't want to put the car in the shop if at all possible. I'm not sure if this is usefull information but its a 96 model jdm b16a with a s4c transmission.
p.s. the part i replaced is on this web page its #4 in the diagram http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...OHC%29+%282%29 |

Re: Transmission help!!
You can check the oil in it. Maybe it's low.

Re: Transmission help!!
this is kinda out there, but i've actually had that same whining sound in my tranny when it went out. There is a chance that the teeth on you gear might have broke or worn to the point where it isn't engaging. I had to replace my tranny, I ended up losing reverse, was also the gear that was whining.
