96-2002 Vs. 2003-2004 Cavalier

What is the difference. If right now you wanted to buy a cavalier what would it be a 1996-2002 model, or the 2003-2004 model. And why would you choose that one? Thanks for any information

Basically the 03+ model is facelifted. It has different front and rear ends. Also, the makor difference would be the ecotec motor.

As for the diff between a Z24 and base model is the engine. The Z has the 2.4L while the base has the 2.2L.

Re: 96-2002 Vs. 2003-2004 Cavalier

It depends on how much you have to spend, which engine you want and which model looks the best to you. Its hard to beat the brand new '04 or '05 Cavaliers for sale now, since they all have the Ecotec engine and huge rebates since GM is trying to get rid of them. I'm not a huge fan of the '03 restyle, but its really not that bad when you look at what you get. I bought a '99 base coupe 3 speed auto brand new and it cost more (!) than the loaded LS Sport coupe with the Ecotec I bought last year. Like Jayson said, do a little research and good luck with your decision.
