There is a small latch at the bottom o the wiper arm. Pull out on the latch and then you should be able to pull the arm off. Sometimes you have to use a screwdriver to help pry off.Carefull not to damage the paint!

When you run your wipers do you have slow/fast/delay modes? Or do you just have delay? When you turn off the wipers do they park back in the fully down stored position or do thye just stop where they are? If these problems are what you have it is not the motor or the switch on the column. Take the panel off the lower left side floor area by your feet on the drivers side. Right under the brake release handle. There you will find a DELAY CONTROL MODULE. Its a black box about 4" x 4". If you open up the box after removing it from the eletrical plugs you will see a circuit board inside. Take it out and look on the underside of the board where the solder traces are for the circuit. You will see a burned out or broken trace. If you solder acroos the break with some solder and a small piece of wire you will fix your problem. My JGC '94 had this problem and I went thru the whole thing with a motor and switch until I found the post on the internet about the circuit board. Hope this helps you....... |

Re: replacing wiper motor
does this work for the Rear Wper as well, I have a problem with my rear wiper they don't work at all now, before they would start wiping then start to slow down to the point where they did not move, I would shut them off for awhile and then turn them back on and they would do the same thing. now they just don't move at all.

Your problem sounds more like either the motor for your rear wipers has gone bad or the linkage is very dry and is not letting it rotate softly. The fix stated above is for the speed and park positions only. If they run only on slow and fast and do not have any delay and also does not park back in the home position then the box is the problem. Yours sounds like the motor/gear box in the rear tailgate has taken a dump. |

Re: replacing wiper motor
The small electronic gizmo (intermittent wiper control) to the left of the drivers feet is the culprit.
If you have some understanding of basic soldering you may be able to fix this problem yourself. Just open the box and look pry out (carefully!) the circuit board. Look carefully and you will see a bit of the printed circuit is burnt. Just solder a jumper over and viola! I did this to mine and it has worked perfectly since. There were some posts with diagrams and pictures of this but I just cant find it any more ![]() Good luck! Shafeeq |
