Unhappy still having starting issues.

well all last week my truck started fine. over the weekened i drove my truck to cincinatti. i parked my truck at the hotel that night, it was cold that night too. the next morning my truck wouldnt start, just clicked. it clicked only once when i would turn my key to try and start it. so i sat there a few seconds and it started. well we started out from the hotel drove it a few exits down and cut it back off to eat breakfast. it started right back. i have come to a conclusion. it seems that my truck only has problems starting when the engine and starter are cold. my brother said that it may be my silinoid going bad on the starter. also on cold morning when my truck will crank its slow, and almost acts like my motor is locked up. can some one tell me whats wrong here. i can buy a new started for $240, but i cant afford that. i can have mine rebuilt for $45
but is it just the silinoid going bad or is my starter and all just shot?

Re: still having starting issues.

Have you checked the battery? Most places that sell batteries will check your battery free.

See the following links. Very common problem and cheap fix.

Faulty rebuilt starters happen often but you have to make sure all the connections to the battery are clean...if they are and the battery is new and tested good. its most likely you got a bad rebuilt starter. If you are having the same problems.

My starter has never been rebuilt, this is the first time, with 130,689 miles on it. i had it rebuilt maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago, its doing just fine now.
