Question 1986 Chev. Suburban Parking Light Prob.

I was flashing my lights (via the switch) at the cows the other night to get them to move out of my way as I drove up to the barn. Once I got to the barn I noticed that my parking and dash lights had stopped working. I replaced the switch the next day to no avail. I've run the wiring down as best I could and can see no problems. I've also looked for a fuse...there is one for the dash lights but none that I can tell for the parking lights. Dash light fuse is fine. Is there a relay, fuse, etc. somewhere on this truck that might have blown?

Re: 1986 Chev. Suburban Parking Light Prob.

Don't see too many of that year anymore, but I believe that there is a fuse for the parking lights. That dash style was around for quite awhile.
Take a test light and touch it to the metal tabs on each side of the fuses to verify that power is there and if the fuse is good.
If none are bad, then remove the socket from the light switch, take a test wire from a known hot and touch the connections until the parking lights light. You will verify the wiring from the switch to the lights. Next, find the corresponding wire on the socket and verify if there is or isn't voltage present. No voltage, trace it back to the switch.

I think you may find that you overlooked a fuse.

Also, if you have a trailer plug, make sure that you don't have a short there.
