Single-turbo Supra, VS Single-turbo NSX (video)

So I got inspired by the WS6 VS Supra thread to post this.

Right-Click, Save As, please.

Single-turbo Supra, VS Single-turbo NSX

And here's that same NSX, running a pass, but basically launching, granny-style, on street-tires.

Turbo NSX 1/4 pass

I'll tell you that he got 11's, but pay attention to the trap-speed.

HERE's what gets the most respect out of me:

Here's that same NSX, in daily-driving trim. Looks stock as hell, with the exception of maybe the rims, until you look in the engine-bay. BTW, it has 550RWHP on pump-gas, and also that freeway run with the Supra was at about 16psi, and the motor can carry PSI up to the upper 20's, I believe, so it has more in store.

Me loves that NSX!

I wish I could see a run between that NSX and the truck that was posted a few days ago.

Re: Single-turbo Supra, VS Single-turbo NSX (video)

I love NSX's. There are a few in my area. When I owned my Trans Am, I got blown away "trying" to race one. It was like a cake walk for him. Great experience, but I choose not to remember that moment anymore. Just brutal (sniff)...Late...

And to think a Supra would pull that hard on me. Then seeing an NSX pull just as hard on a Supra. That's insanely fast.

Not just that, but it barely weighs 3000 lbs and already runs mid 13s with just 295 crank hp.

Re: Single-turbo Supra, VS Single-turbo NSX (video)

Ahh, nice to see one of the more under appreciated cars getting some nice comments. Most posters babble on about how its "too expensive." What do you expect for a hand built car.

Nice to know that the "hard to make fast" myth about NSX's is alot less a myth. I also respect the hell out of the owner for keeping it clean and stock looking, im interested in what suspension changes he's made, what tires he's running and if he upgraded the brakes any.

That's crazy. I thought it's the convertible which weighs more.

Incredible. I love NSXs (perhaps thats why I love 3000gts...they look shockingly familiar).

And as for prices; ya, a new one is like $89,900....but I've seen a few in the DuPont Registry (basically like an Upper-Class AutoTrader) for like $30,000-$60,000. These are ones like 2000 with 30,000 miles on em for that cheap. They aren't EXTREMELY pricey, and I'd much rather have one of those than a 911 (ya I know, kick me in the nuts, I said it).

Nice vid though carnutt. It was wonderful
