6 speed issues?

when im driving in 1-3rd gears at about 2g's the car has a slight jerk to it almost like a tooth is missing somewhere and it lets off for a sec and then goes. also when i let off of the gas in lets say 3rd it jerks enough to make you do a little head bob...does it sound like my tranny has some problems?

if your talkin bout what i'm thinking about, then that's what most manual trannys do. when you don't have enough rpm in a certain gear they do a little of a chug, that's because having the clutch creates a solid connection between engine and drivetrain, while torque converters offer enough slip so that at low rpm you don't feel the chug. backing off the gas and decelerating faster than autos do is pretty much because of the same thing.

Re: 6 speed issues?

if it's auto, sounds like slippage to me.

its not consistent is it? like if you cruise at 2 gs does it keep doing it or just a stray chug here and there?
